Bits and Pieces of my life as of late...

Hey there!

Long time, no post I know, but longER time, no comment!

For the few that are interested, here's what I got for Christmas: a devotional, a fleece blanket, candy, a cookbook, another book, a tshirt, 12 pairs of socks, flannel drawstring bag for my ski goggles, two coupons for a free snowboard waxing (my sister will wax it for me) and handmade (by another of my sisters) scrapbooking letters.

On to more interesting stuff. On boxing day I went to my aunt's for a Chrostmas get together on my Mom's side. It was really awesome getting to see everyone again! There were several I had not seen in a while, and I got to know my cousin's fiance better. We played Dutch Blitz and Euchre(second time I've ever played so I didn't really do very well). I'm used to playing Dutch blitz with like seven other players, so just three other people and nobody that is REALLY good meant the game seemed so AGoniZinGly SLOW.

The night before I went to another aunt's house (on my dad's side). There we played a simple but fun and challenging hand game and Euchre (for the first time :P) There was a really tempting array of food and sweets but I was full already. I ate anyways...pffft.

On Tuesday we are probably going to have a family day, Wednesday-Thursday is a party somewhere for New Year's Eve/Day...I'm not sure where cuz nobody's figured that out yet, but that's a minor detail :P

On New Years Day I'm going up to Ottawa with my brother and two sisters to visit some friends. On the way up we're gonna stop over and visit my cousin and his wife near Kingston.

Then when I get back from Ottawa I'll have to do school *sigh*

I just realized these ramblings must be pretty boring to read...I'll try to post something more interesting soon.

Buuusy!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...It's kinda busy right now...

Last Friday I went to a friends house...we went snowboarding on the hill in her backyard, made and decorated scrumtitious gingerbread houses, and went for a walk. IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN!!!

On Saturday was the Christmas get together on my Dad's side. First we went to a gym and played some sports like ball hockey and volleyball. Then we went to my aunt's house and had a potluck supper. The food was sooo good and, like usual, I ate too much. I got to see my newborn first-cousin-once-removed!!! In English, that's my cousin's newborn baby. Carson is really adorable!!!

Christmas break is quickly approaching...actually it's about to run me over. For me, Christmas break is starting on Friday cuz I am going SNOWBOARDING!!! at snowvalley :D

I got snowpants that I needed on SALE :D They are brown, like my coat, but not the same shade...so if you see the abominable mudman going snowboarding, or at least trying to snowboard, that's actually ME. Don't laugh.

Sooo yeah...buuusy...

Manhunt + Apples to Apples + Scram + Lots of PPL = FFFUUUNNN!!!

Yep, that's what we did. Played 2 games of Manhunt I was caught like somewhere in the middle of both games but that was kind of a win cuz then I ate skittles while waiting for the last few ppl to be found...I wouldn't have been caught, at least not right then, if my friend hadn't looked in the awesome hiding spot I showed her and if my brother had took the "Doi" to mean "Yes, I've been caught" instead of "No, I haven't been caught but I want you to think I have". We ended on the 2nd game even though we had only been playing for about an hour cuz of our not-so-nice neighbour (to put it nicely). A couple ppl accidentally went a bit past where the fence that the neighbour had rolled back a couple years ago (long story short - so our animals could get on his land so that he could get us in trouble or something like that). He saw them and started yelling about calling the cops for trespassing or something like that sooo yeah everybody kinda just wnet inside after that.
We ate snacks before going downstairs. Two games of Apples to Apples started up, and one game of Scram (a game using a pool table and balls but for lots of ppl). I played Apples to Apples, and won the green cards "Inspirational" and "Hopeless". I judged for the green card "Idiotic" once, but before I actually judged I handed it to my sister Jenny, just to tease her. She won it anyways with the red card "Prince Charming". :P Sooo much fun!!!
Then the cops showed up...my parents weren't home and there were tons of teens so like awkwaaard! But my older brother talked to them and nothing significant happened cuz we've had tons of problems with our neighbour and they know that. After that ppl started leaving - ironically the ppl who had the farthest to drive were the last ones to leave.

Short little blurb - Friday night I went to watch the hockey game my friends play at with some of my other friends :)
- Sunday night I went over to a friends house and they *deep breath* havethisbighillandtheyhavesnowandyahyouguesseditIwentsnowboardingforlikethefirsttimethisyearandthefirsttimeonmysnowboardand EEEEEEEEEEE!!! it was AWESOME!!!

FUUUN TIIIMESSS!!!

Redwall Ballad

I like Redwall. correction, I LOVE Redwall!!! HEre's a poem about Redwall that I wrote for Media Arts.

This is a ballad for one and all
Of the brave creatures of Redwall

The gentle and peace-loving mice
Always think it over twice
Before setting careful battle plans
To drive the vermin from the land

Hedgehogs know how to brew
The best ales and cordials too.
They pick the best, to say the least,
For all to drink at Redwall’s feast.

Squirrels are nimble and fast,
Brave fighters to the last,
Their climbing ability makes them perfect spies
For scouting out the enemies.

Moles never leave the ground
Builders and tunnelers that keep Redwall sound
And always willing to lend a hand.
Their accents are hard to understand.

There are the badgers, brave and strong,
Legendary rulers of Salamandastron.
Woe to all who stand in their path
When they are under the Bloodwrath!

Beware of the perilous fightin’ hares.
Any vermin should be scared,
And cooks too, the reason why:
They’ll scoff all your grub in the blink of an eye!

There are the otters, burly and chipper,
Led by one they call the skipper.
Loyal as ever, they’ll come at the call
As fast as possible to save Redwall

The Guosim ride the rivers well,
Paddle in hand, rapier in belt.
Logalog is the one in power
Of The Guerilla Union of Shrews In Mossflower

Woe to the foes
Who threaten those
Within the sandstone walls
When roused to fight
The creatures unite
To defend cherished Redwall

Hope you liked it :P
If you've never read Redwall, well, it only took one book to get me hooked :)

Perpetual Motion, Perpetual Arguing, Perpetual Snow (I hope!)

'Kay, couple of random blurbs.
Here's a link on perpetual motion that is really very interesting.
http://www.cybersalt.org/content/view/2519/689/
It's not scientificy really, just funny.

I was playing Apples to Apples with 3 of my sisters and a friend. One of my sisters was TOTALLY beating the rest of us...she had like 9 green apple cards to everyone else's 2-4 cards. Then once when I was the judge, the card was scary. I got The Titanic, Hiroshima 1945, and two other cards...I quickly eliminated the other two cards, but I really had no idea what one to pick. I ended up picking Titanic cuz I was PRETTY sure that the Hiroshima card was the winning person's card and I didn't really want to pick it. In short, it was, so she didn't get the green apple card, and proceeded to tell me why Hiroshima would have been scary than the Titanic for several minutes...then I stopped listening cuz I DIDN'T CARE! It was kinda funny how she wouldn't keep playing until I would listen, but kinda annoying...

We've got a few inches of snow over here!!! :D Unfortunately we're suppose to be getting a warm front :( I hope all the snow doesn't melt!!!

Toodles!

AWANA Pancake night

Last night was Pancake Night at Awana, the kids club at our church. I made sooo many perfectly cooked, golden brown, and consistently round pancakes. I think everyone agreed that mine were the best! (they attributed it to having a good griddle) So I do have a skill!!! There were also those small sausages (called breakfast sausages I think) which I love! Ithink I had like 4 sausages and like 6 pancakes before I was full...I didn't even want to look at food anymore. Now I'll probably be having toasted leftover pancakes for lunch. 'Neways I should go work on school.

Long time, No post, eh?

Heeey, it's been a looong time! But it's been even longer since anyone commented! HA! Unless something unexpected happens, such as my death (which is possible, but unlikely as I am only 15) my last post will be AFTER the last comment. So if you want me to post, then comment! That way I don't feel like I'm talking to mineself. It's October 31. I'm not going trick-or-treating, but I might be going to this harvest party at a local church just because my three youngest sibs are going, Jenny has to drive them, and EVERYONE else is elsewhere. Staying home alone is kinda boring cuz I never feel like doing anything. Oooh yah. Jeremy might be home. I dunno. w/e. I'll probably go anywayz in hopes of securing some unnatural and wholly unhealthy sources of hyper-catalysts. (Don't know what that means? Put the dictionary to good use!) Tomorrow I KNOW I'll be hyper since I'm going to my friend's house for her birthday...and she gets sooo incredibly hyper, like, ten times worse than Rachel. And it's horribly addicting. I lost my voice last time she came over. For like the first time in my life. Haha. I bet you didn't know...that I have a LIFE! Yes! It's TRUE!!! Ok, I'm done rambling now. COMMENT!

Satellites

Satellites are awesome inventions. Wireless Highspeed is to, but not a reality where we live (in a dip, surrounded by trees). I'd rather live in the country with dial-up than in the city with highspeed. But I'd rather live in the country with highspeed. So now I can watch Youtube videos, like the funny Tim Hawkins ones my friend showed me. Here's one of my favourites.

Shopping, Kung-Fu, and Chopsticks - a great summer start

On Wednesday, Jenny had her last exam. Dad dropped us of at the Best's house because we figured to hang out, have a good time and catch a movie. Unfortunately, they had to go to their grandmother's funeral, so they dropped us off at the library so Jenny could do her exam and we planned to meet at Country Style at 2:30ish. I just read a book until Jenny was done, then we went shopping. First stop: Giant Tiger. I got a sweater, track pants, and some cake mix that I had been wanting to try but could not find anywhere. Oh yeah, and a big Mars Bar. (Mmm!) Second Stop: Dollarama. I just got a drink. Third Stop:Chez Thrift (which apparently is pronounced shay thrift, but I like saying chez thrift). I got a really nice pair of jeans for only $2! Fourth Stop: Bulk Food Store. I got candy! (What else?) After that Jenny went back to the library to read and eat lunch. I wanted to get something from Timmies with a $5 Tim card that I got for Christmas and had not yet used. Since I was down there, I checked in a store for the game Apples to Apples, which Sarah really wanted. (They didn't have it but referred me to another store). After I got a fruit and yogurt cup from Timmies I returned to the library to tell Jenny I was going to check the other store which was up by giant tiger. They did not have it either :( Then I returned to the library, where Katie and Aaron had already found Jenny. THey returned a lot sooner then they thought they would. Apparently they saw me go to Timmies as they passed so they went there after they got the car, but I was gone already...apparently I walk really fast. 'Neways, then we picked up Carolyn and went to see Kung Fu Panda...It was hilarious! It was also the third movie I've seen in theatres (Cars being the first and The Pirates who don't do anything being the second) Then we went back to their house, but only for a short while before everybody went to a Chinese restaurant for supper. The food was pretty good...I had fun mastering chopsticks! Then we got our fortune cookies. I expectantly broke open my cookie...and found nothing! I didn't get a fortune! I am fortuneless...lol. Did you know that fortune cookies were a Canadian invention? Anyways, after we went outside, Aaron left to pick up some dilly bars for desert. Jenny, Katie, Sarah, and I got bored waiting, so we started walking home. Katie and Jenny were walking too slow (or I was walking too fast) so Sarah and I went ahead of them. We got our dilly bars when the van caught up with us. Pretty much right after we got back to their house we had to leave for volleyball, which Sarah was going to, which was how we were getting home. When we arrived at volleyball, I jumped on the trampoline a lot with Geoffrey, David, and Luke. I also played a little bit of tennis with Geoffrey, and some soccer. What a way to start summer, eh?
